The God we serve today is the same God who worked miracles in the Bible. He still performs miracles today!I want to continue discussing the following lyrics from the song, “Way Maker,” originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu (known professionally as Sinach): “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

Today I want to talk about God being a miracle worker. Miracles are “extraordinary events that defy the laws of science and can only be attributed to the supernatural power of God.” If you believe that God has all power and can do anything, then you must also believe in miracles. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This verse says all things, not just some things, are possible with God!

We read in the Bible that the Lord performed many miracles. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever,” so the God we serve today is the same God who worked miracles in the Bible. He performed miracles then, and He is still working miracles now. Here are a few examples:

  • There have been automobile accidents where the vehicle was severely damaged, but the driver came out with only a few scratches.
  • Buildings have collapsed, but people were found alive and well among the rubble.
  • People’s hearts have stopped, but God brought them back to life.

Do you need a miracle? Do you have a family member you want to be saved, a medical condition you want to be healed from, a problem you want to be solved, or some other seemingly impossible situation? If so, give it to God, trust Him to take care of it, know that He can, and believe that He will because He is a miracle working God!

Is there a miracle you are waiting on God to perform? Tell me about it in the comments, so I can join you in praying for that miracle. God is able!
