I want to continue discussing the following lyrics from the song, “Way Maker,” originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu (known professionally as Sinach): “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

Today I want to talk about God being a miracle worker. Miracles are “extraordinary events that defy the laws of science and can only be attributed to the supernatural power of God.” If you believe that God has all power and can do anything, then you must also believe in miracles. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This verse says all things, not just some things, are possible with God! (more…)

God Is a Way Maker!

A few days ago while I was driving around town, the song “Way Maker” came to mind. “Way Maker” was originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, known professionally as Sinach. In particular, the following lyrics stood out to me: “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

As those words kept running through my head, I thought that if we truly embrace these amazing descriptions of God, they will help us deal with life’s challenges better. So starting today, and for the next three emails, I want to delve a little deeper into each of these pictures of God.

First, God is a way maker. When I was a young Christian, I heard the seasoned saints say “God will make a way out of no way.” Many of us have probably experienced times in our lives where it looked like there was no way out, no way through, or no way around those situations. But God came through, delivered us, and showed us that He was a way maker. (more…)
