No matter how bad the situation looks, believe that God is able to make a way to bring you out of your circumstances.A few days ago while I was driving around town, the song “Way Maker” came to mind. “Way Maker” was originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, known professionally as Sinach. In particular, the following lyrics stood out to me: “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

As those words kept running through my head, I thought that if we truly embrace these amazing descriptions of God, they will help us deal with life’s challenges better. So starting today, and for the next three emails, I want to delve a little deeper into each of these pictures of God.

First, God is a way maker. When I was a young Christian, I heard the seasoned saints say “God will make a way out of no way.” Many of us have probably experienced times in our lives where it looked like there was no way out, no way through, or no way around those situations. But God came through, delivered us, and showed us that He was a way maker.

If we are to trust that God is our way maker, we must believe He is able to deliver us from any problem we face. Right before the three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fiery furnace, they told the king, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand” (Daniel 3:17). These young men believed that despite the circumstances they faced, God was able to bring them out, and that is exactly what He did.

I want to encourage each of us to not give up on God! No matter how bad the situation looks, how daunting the task seems, or how impossible the problem appears, believe that God is able to make a way to bring you out of your circumstances. Regardless of whether your challenge deals with health, finances, relationships, or anything else, keep on believing that God is a way maker, that is who He is! Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) tells us God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Then once God brings you out, praise His name and tell others how God made a way for you. You never know who might be going through a difficult situation and needs to know that God is indeed a way maker. Trust God to be your way maker today!

When has God made a way for you? Tell me about it in the comments.
