God Is a Miracle Worker!

The God we serve today is the same God who worked miracles in the Bible. He still performs miracles today!I want to continue discussing the following lyrics from the song, “Way Maker,” originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu (known professionally as Sinach): “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

Today I want to talk about God being a miracle worker. Miracles are “extraordinary events that defy the laws of science and can only be attributed to the supernatural power of God.” If you believe that God has all power and can do anything, then you must also believe in miracles. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This verse says all things, not just some things, are possible with God! (more…)

God Is a Way Maker!

No matter how bad the situation looks, believe that God is able to make a way to bring you out of your circumstances.A few days ago while I was driving around town, the song “Way Maker” came to mind. “Way Maker” was originally written by award-winning gospel singer Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, known professionally as Sinach. In particular, the following lyrics stood out to me: “You are / Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper / Light in the darkness / My God, that is who You are.” Links to the other posts in this series are at the end of this post.

As those words kept running through my head, I thought that if we truly embrace these amazing descriptions of God, they will help us deal with life’s challenges better. So starting today, and for the next three emails, I want to delve a little deeper into each of these pictures of God.

First, God is a way maker. When I was a young Christian, I heard the seasoned saints say “God will make a way out of no way.” Many of us have probably experienced times in our lives where it looked like there was no way out, no way through, or no way around those situations. But God came through, delivered us, and showed us that He was a way maker. (more…)

Strengthening Your Faith – Part 4

Strengthening our faith in God will help us trust Him even in the midst of difficult times. This is the final part of my 4-part series on strengthening your faith. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

I want to spend a little more time on that third level of faith which says if God doesn’t fix my problems, I believe He knows what He is doing. In Part 3, I said when God doesn’t bring us out of our situations, we should continue to trust, worship, and serve Him. Trusting God in the midst of difficult times is easier said than done, so here are some things we can remember to help us do this: (more…)

Strengthening Your Faith – Part 3

To strengthen your faith in God, you must believe He knows what He is doing, even if He doesn't fix your problems. This is Part 3 of my 4-part series on strengthening your faith. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

Let’s recap: The first level of faith is to believe in God and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. The second level of faith is to believe that God has the power to handle your problems. But what happens if God does not take care of your situation? If you ask God to deliver you from a problem and He doesn’t, do you lose faith in Him? Do you stop trusting in Him?

This brings me to the third level of faith, which says if God doesn’t fix my problems, I believe He knows what He is doing. Romans 11:33 (NLT) says, “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!” (more…)

Strengthening Your Faith – Part 2

To strengthen your faith in God, you must believe He has the power to handle your problems. This is Part 2 of my 4-part series on strengthening your faith. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

After believing in God and accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Level 1), the second level of faith we must have to deal with life’s challenges is to believe that God has the power to handle our problems. Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (more…)

Strengthening Your Faith – Part 1

To strengthen your faith in God you must believe in Him.Today I want to begin a new series on a topic that is of vital importance to every believer: faith. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

The dictionary defines faith as “a strong belief in someone or something; complete trust or confidence.” As Christians, we are called to place our belief, trust, and confidence in God.

The goal of this 4-part series is to strengthen our faith and trust in God. There are three levels of faith that we must possess to help us deal with the inevitable challenges of life. The first level of faith is to believe in God and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Romans 10:9 states, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (more…)
