Traffic signs aThere is only one way to heaven: through believing in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.re designed to regulate, warn, and guide drivers. However, these signs can also teach us some important spiritual lessons. This is part 1 of my 5-part series on “Lessons from a Traffic Sign.” You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

Today, I want to talk about the “one way” sign, which indicates that a street allows traffic to travel in only one direction. Spiritually, this sign reminds us that there is only one way to get to heaven, and that is through believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (more…)

Do Your Best for God

I like sports. Whether it’s basketball, Do your best for God!baseball, football, tennis, or any other sport, I marvel at how the athletes continuously push themselves to be better and better. They put forth extra effort so they can be the best they can be.

This made me think about our spiritual lives. Is our service and devotion to God listless, insincere, lukewarm, and even mediocre? Or are we on fire for the Lord, giving Him 100% of ourselves, and doing the very best we can for Him?

Second Peter 1:5-8 say, “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” The key phrase in this passage is “make every effort.” (more…)

Why Christians Shouldn’t Worry – Part 5

Christians shouldn't worry because God has the power to handle our problems. This is Part 5 of my 7-part series on why Christians shouldn’t worry. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

The fifth reason Christians shouldn’t worry is because God has the power to handle our problems. In Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV), God says, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” The answer to this question is a resounding “NO!” There are no problems God cannot solve, no situations He cannot fix, and no circumstances from which He cannot deliver us. Why Christians Shouldn’t Worry – Part 4

Instead of worrying, Christians should have faith in God.

This is Part 4 of my 7-part series on why Christians shouldn’t worry. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.

The fourth reason Christians shouldn’t worry is because worrying shows a lack of faith in God.

One of the negative consequences of worry is fear. We sometimes worry and become fearful when we are in a situation where we don’t know what is going to happen to us or our loved ones. (more…)
