This is Part 3 of my 4-part series on strengthening your faith. You can find links to the other parts of the series at the end of this post.
Let’s recap: The first level of faith is to believe in God and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. The second level of faith is to believe that God has the power to handle your problems. But what happens if God does not take care of your situation? If you ask God to deliver you from a problem and He doesn’t, do you lose faith in Him? Do you stop trusting in Him?
This brings me to the third level of faith, which says if God doesn’t fix my problems, I believe He knows what He is doing. Romans 11:33 (NLT) says, “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!”
Because God’s wisdom is so great, it is impossible for us to understand why He does what He does. God is always able to deliver us from our troubles, but He may choose not to do so. If that happens, what should we do? We should believe that He knows what He is doing, and that He always does what is right. Deuteronomy 32:4 (NLT) states, “He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!”
When God, in His wisdom, allows or causes something to happen to us, we may be tempted to ask, “Why did God let that happen?” But as finite beings, we are in no position to question the actions of an infinite, all-wise God whose “deeds are perfect,” “who does no wrong,” and who is “just and upright.”
When God doesn’t bring us out of our situations, we should continue to trust, worship, and serve Him. This will not always be easy, but God will sustain us through our trials and help us keep our faith in Him.
What do you do when God doesn’t fix your problem, heal your body, or bring you out of difficult circumstances? Let me know in the comments.
